August 2006 EVO vs. WRX Shootout

Highlights and Full Gallery from the August 2006 EVO vs. WRX Shootout at Englishtown, NJ. It rained heavily the night before making the track wet even before the event started. Even after attempts to dry the track, the drag was canceled due to the mist in the air. However, the AutoX was still on.
Being a premier event, the Showdown featured many 8 and 9 second cars. Including Big Valley's STi and Turbotrix's EVO and STi. Too bad they didn't get to run.

Due to the drag canceling, the event was rescheduled for October 14th. Looks like I'll be going then too...
